Front end portal with single sign on for easy class registration.

Internal professional development training and certification programs are great, but if they are not user friendly, they can be difficult to navigate and utilize. Programs that use SharePoint can be limited in customization options and user experience/user experience design (UI/UX), but traditional development to create custom apps is time-consuming. Instructors often complain that they have to spend too much time performing administrative tasks to generate reports, which reduces the amount of time they can interact with faculty and students. Students sometimes find that the registration process can be cumbersome, and their ability to easily find previously completed classes and certifications is limited.

To address some of these challenges, we created a custom, front end portal that incorporates a single sign on so that employees can easily register for classes. People can sign up with the click of a button, eliminating the need to fill out lengthy registration forms.

Our hack utilizes Microsoft applications to automate tasks that are typically performed manually, such as notifications, reviews, and approvals. Instructors spend less time on paperwork and can easily generate reports to share with administrators. Students can easily find registration forms and display personal certifications in one easy to access location.
